WPC assists several organizations in the maintenance and distribution
of HIPAA-related code lists external to the X12 family of standards.
The lists have different release schedules and are maintained by the National Uniform Claim Committee (Health Care Provider Taxonomy code set), by the
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (Remittance
Advice Remark Codes), by the Insurance Business Process Application Error Code Maintenance Committee (Insurance Business Process Application Error Codes), and a group that meets three times a year on the
Sunday of each ASC X12 trimester meeting (all of the others).
