What does "Inactive for 4010 since 6/00" mean?
There are some codes that are marked "invalid" and an ANSI version and date is listed. An example would be "Inactive for 4010 since 6/00."  Are we to assume that the code is not active for a version 4010 transaction transmitted after 6-1-2000 and for any future ANSI versions?

  • Yes - You are correct - it means that in 06/00 the change was passed such that the code is not valid for use in version 4010 or any subsequent ASC X12 version.
