How do I know if a code has changed? |
When changes are made can we depend on a note within the list indicating when the change was effective?
- Yes - Notes are placed in italic at the end of the definition. Codes do not usually have "effective dates". Once added, they are available for use with any version of the ASC X12 standard. Restrictions only appear with inactivations. Every code that is inactivated is annotated with the effective version of inactivation. That way, people on older versions of the ASC X12 standard can continue to use the codes that they have in production.
